Peru’s cement market continues to contract as domestic dispatches fell 3.8 per cent YoY in August, according to Asocem, the country’s cement association. Output fell by 6.6 per cent when compared with August 2014.
For the year to date, domestic demand decreased 4.4 per cent YoY while total dispatches (including exports) saw a 3.7 decline.
"The cement market continues to decline on an annualised basis from September 2014 to August 2015, however, growth is observed every month, from April to August, due to seasonality," said Asocem.
