Lagos-headquartered Lafarge Africa Plc (Holcim Group) has reported sales revenue of NGN248.35bn (US$154.9m) for 1Q25, an 80 per cent increase on the NGN137.7bn of the same period in 2024.

Operating profit also grew by an impressive 137 per cent during the same period, reaching NGN137.77bn against NGN71.77bn in 1Q24. Profits after tax jumped 837 per cent relative to the same period, going from NGN5.19bn to NGN48.64bn.

Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, Lafarge Africa’s chief executive officer, attributes the strong performance to innovative new products and operational excellence.

He said: “We achieved solid financial results in Q1, a strong performance driven by our innovative product offerings and strategic operational Initiatives. This is further evidence of our strong market positioning, operational efficiency, cost management, and dedication to value creation.”

Alade-Akinyemi highlighted the launch of Ground Calcium Carbonate (GCC) as proof of the company’s green ambitions. Lafarge Africa’s Elephant ECOPlanet product is also intended to significantly reduce the company's carbon emissions footprint.
