In August domestic dispatches in the Peruvian cement market edged 0.75 per cent down to 908,553t when compared with the same month of 2013, according to Asocem, the country’s cement producers’ association. Cement exports reached 30,083t during the period. Production advanced 2.44 per cent to 958,712t.
Sales were 0.27 per cent down to 6,698,788t in the first eight months of the year from 6,700,650t sold in 8M13. Output from Peru’s cement factories reached 6,908,979t, up 0.9 per cent YoY from 6,847,341t. Peruvian producers exported around 170,063t of excess production.
