Following a suggestion by Silvio Larios, general manager of the Honduran Chamber of the Construction Industry (Chico), to revise the price of cement, representatives of the cement industry announced that the price of a bag of grey cement will not fall.

The manager of Cementos del Norte, Juan Carlos Sikaffy, said most cement producers use coal in the firing of their kilns and not fuel oil. "In the international market these fuels have not dropped in price (coal), because the oil war is among the major oil producers and producers of shale, what we can see is the charter itself has definitely come down because has it down to 50 or 40 per cent of the cost of freight," he added.
