FLSmidth has been awarded a contract for process optimisation of Hope Construction Materials’ cement plant in Derbyshire, UK, using FLSmidth’s ECS/ProcessExpert® system.

The system stabilises the plant, optimises the production, manages and corrects process disruptions and minimises wear on plant equipment – all to ensure optimum plant performance. By improving equipment availability and utilisation, the system helps reduce operational and maintenance costs.

The order includes optimisation of two pyro processes including kilns and coolers, as well as two coal mills. The optimisation system improves energy and heat efficiency using alternative fuels. Hope Construction Materials’ Hope Works has been a pioneer in the use of waste-derived fuels in the United Kingdom.
